To understand water availability and quality to inform better water management
Problem
How can there be water shortages in the State with the highest rainfull in the country? How can villages create water security and water self reliance? There is a lack of information about how much water people are able to access and how it is being used.
Solutions
Siolim residents are mobilising to map water resources to better understand water usage in their village. This with a view to improving water management and ensure water security.
Outcomes
1. awareness raising with residents 2. data collection about water availabilty and quality 3. a map of different water resources in the village.
Impacts
This map will feed into panchayat decision making and ensure water is managed effficienty in the future.
